It turns out Ashley McCabe wasn’t the only Lillooet representative on the bronze-medal winning B.C. team that competed at the National Women’s U-18 Hockey Championships in Regina.
Michelle Beland was the athletic therapist for the B.C. team and part of the nine-person support staff for this province’s medal winners.
Michelle is the daughter of Paul and Sue Beland and graduated from Lillooet Secondary School in 2009. In addition to being a certified athletic therapist, she is also a certified strength coach.
She has previous hockey experience at the national level. She was the assistant coach of Team B.C. at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in 2012 and 2013 and was the team trainer in 2014.
