QUESTION OF THE WEEK

About US

Margaret (Ma) Murray and her husband, George Murray, established the Bridge River-Lillooet News in 1934. Since then, we have kept the public in Lillooet informed every week.

The News is now published every Wednesday and is the sole newspaper of record in Lillooet. In addition to Lillooet, we cover events in Bralorne, Gold Bridge, Lytton, Seton Portage, Shalalth, and the neighbouring rural areas.

Our newsstands can be found throughout Lillooet. The News also offers local, national, and international subscriptions.

Located about two hours from Whistler on Highway 99 and two hours from Kamloops to the east, Lillooet is a frequent stop for bus tours. In the past, Lillooet has been a hub for mining, forestry, and railroads.

Although wood processing and the railroads are still important parts of the local economy, in recent years, the community is now trying to develop its tourism industry, especially with the Olympics on the horizon.

As Lillooet keeps evolving, the Bridge River-Lillooet News will continue to document history in the making for readers near and far.
