HALIFAX - The union representing acute and long-term care nurses in Nova Scotia reached a tentative deal Friday.
If the agreement is ratified, nurses will receive wage increments equal to those negotiated or awarded to other health care unions in the province.
A news release says the wage settlement is retroactive until November 2011 and will expire on Oct. 31.
The Nova Scotia Nurses' Union says about 6,000 members are covered by the deal.
Members will vote via mail-in ballot and the results are expected July 16.
Nurses working for the Canadian Blood Services and VON have yet to finalize agreements.
