From across the region, with glasses in hand, attendees were ready for hours of music and tasting at the third annual Lillooet Beer and Wine Festival on Saturday. Connoisseurs flocked to the event to swirl, sniff and sip.
Fort Berens Estate Winery hosted the daylong celebration, showcasing their wines as well as local craft beer by Bitter Bine Hop Company, at their picturesque estate. The sweet experience included vineyard tours via horse and buggy, beer making demonstrations and musical performances all afternoon.
Visitors explored the fruit of the vine as well as the divine samplings of BBQ venison prepared by Chef Jeff Alexander from the Rimrock Café, Whistler. Organic cheeses, kebabs and fresh Indian tacos rounded out the fare.
Visitors not looking to drink had an opportunity to explore the works of local artisans, booths for local organizations and enjoy the old time fiddle music offered throughout the day at the craft market.
Children young and old escaped to the hay bale fort, had their faces painted and expressed themselves at a special graffiti wall.
The event drew record numbers and worshippers of the corked and kegged are already looking forward to next year.
