AUG. 27

Electronic equipment stolen from Seton Lake Road home

Lillooet RCMP received a report of a theft from a residence that may have occurred some time between Aug. 21 and Aug. 23. Taken from the complainant’s residence was a DVD player, approximately 100 DVDs, an LG cell phone and a WII game and controller. The theft occurred in a residence on Seton Lake Road in Lillooet. If you have any information that would assist in the recovery of the stolen items, please contact Lillooet RCMP and refer to police file number 2012-1628.

AUG. 28

Unwanted visitor arrested

In the early morning hours of Aug. 28, Lillooet RCMP responded to a report of an unwanted person at a residence in the 500-block of Victoria. Officers arrived and located an intoxicated male at the complainant’s residence. The male was arrested without incident and was transported to the Lillooet RCMP detachment. He is facing several breach-related charges as a result of the complaint. The man was held in custody and transported by the Sheriff’s Dept. to Kamloops for court there.

Honest citizen finds valuable purse

Thanks to the assistance of a Lillooet resident a Calgary woman will soon be receiving property she lost over a month ago in Kamloops. A concerned citizen located an expensive purse and its contents in Lillooet. The individual turned the purse into the Lillooet RCMP. Contact was made with the owner who had reported the purse missing a month ago in Kamloops.

It is not known how the purse ended up in Lillooet; however the owner was grateful to receive a call advising that her property had been located because the bag had considerable personal value to her. Lillooet RCMP want to thank the individual for his honesty and assistance (you know who you are). A job well done that reflects well on all the citizens of Lillooet.

AUG. 29

Ammunition turned in

A citizen from the Lillooet area turned over a large stash of ammunition to the detachment. Lillooet RCMP have a process in place to ensure that in situations like this, the ammunition is disposed of in a proper manner. Lillooet RCMP often dispose of ammunition and unwanted firearms. If you have items of this nature, police ask that you notify the office prior to attending for obvious safety reasons. Police frequently receive questions about unwanted firearms and ammunition.

Motorcyclist transported to hospital

Lillooet RCMP, Lillooet Ambulance and Lillooet Rescue crews attended a motorcycle crash off Highway 99 South between Lillooet and Duffey Lake. The accident was a single vehicle crash with injury. The injured male was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. The matter is still under investigation by Lillooet RCMP.

AUG. 31

Man charged for aggravated assault

Lillooet RCMP responded to a report of a domestic assault in progress in the 2000-block of Cook Road. Several officers attended from the Lillooet RCMP and Tribal Police offices. One male was taken into custody without incident and an injured female was examined by Lillooet Ambulance staff.

Both parties are known to police as there have been previous domestic violence issues in the past. The male is facing charges of aggravated assault and other related charges as a result of the call to police. He is expected to remain in custody and was transported to Kamloops by Sheriffs.
