The results of IntegrityBC’s robopoll of Lillooet residents may be released before this Friday, Aug. 17.
IntegrityBC executive director Dermod Travis told the News last week his organization hadn’t tabulated the results yet and is proceeding cautiously with its plans for an online poll for those who hadn’t participated via telephone in the robopoll
“We're not going to start the online poll until we've finished the phone calls and we're moving very cautiously on this,” said Travis. “No one can access that poll without contacting our office for a password. We'll review each request on a case-by-case basis.”
Responding to concerns that people outside the District of Lillooet’s boundaries might be contacted and included in the robopoll, Travis said IntegrityBC’s telephone list includes addresses “so we can sort to specific boundaries and we've also tried to screen further in the preamble to the robopoll.”
The poll asked the following questions:
Are you familiar with the District of Lillooet’s decision to proceed with the Cayoosh Creek water system proposal? Yes, No or Don’t Know.
Do you believe the District of Lillooet has provided you with sufficient information in order to make an informed decision on the Cayoosh Creek water system including its costs and future operating expenses? Yes, No or Don’t Know.
Do you support the District of Lillooet‘s decision to proceed with the Cayoosh Creek water system proposal? Yes, No or Don’t Know.
Do you believe the District of Lillooet has given the alternative proposal to the Cayoosh Creek water system sufficient consideration? Yes, No or Don’t Know.
Do you believe that the District of Lillooet‘s spending is not enough, just right or excessive? Not enough, just right or excessive.
Overall are you satisfied or dissatisfied in the performance of Town Council? Satisfied, dissatisfied or neither
“We won't be claiming the poll is scientific, because it is not a random poll. We are trying to reach every landline,” added Travis. “But it may hopefully provide everyone with a useful perspective.”
