To the Editor,
Would you please print this open letter to the DoL council and administration?
Dear Mayor, Council and Administration,
Your silence is deafening.
Am I to believe that you seek the wisdom and counsel of Mr. O’Connor?
Should you do so, you do so at your own peril. It would show great weakness and lack of direction on your part.
Is Mr. O’Connor your clandestine “mouthpiece”? Certainly that is the perception I am coming away with.
In coming to this community, I am very aware of the challenges and the duties of an elected council of such a small town. I have been there and done that. My level of support for you as council and administration was very high initially.
In the interim, I have been experiencing and reading the various travails of this community and am coming away with an increasing unease. The activities of the town in this present economic climate and its impact on my taxes, leads me to question.
Take it from me. I am well experienced in the arts of both leadership and the work of getting disparate people and groups to come together for a common goal. It is an integral part of my work and I do it successfully and get well paid for it.
I can unequivocally state that each and every one of Mr. O’Connor’s recommendations to you is completely wrong. You would do well to heed the good advice of the people I see and have read here such as G. Vanderwolf, E. Tuemp, M. Boyd, K. Maxon and G. Sahl among the few. What shows through their writings is their deep care for this community.
Thus, I request that you enlighten me as to the relationship that you hold with the views of Mr. O’Connor.
If indeed he is your “mouthpiece,” then I suggest that you immediately have him cease and desist. This town is divided enough without the added incendiary vocalizing.
If he is not, then it is incumbent upon you to take a stance publicly and support this community and all of us members from such an onslaught.
