Cherry Napoleon, Saqa7 Kage-Thevarge,, Taylor Edwards, Butch Bob, Dawson Ned, Ashton Vinnie, Tyler Adolph, Roger Narcisse III, Kio Kage-Thevarge, Tyrone Charles and Kiefer Alec, bottom, with the championship trophy they won in Ashcroft.

They are the champions.

Lillooet’s Just Do It soccer team brought home the championship trophy from a nine-team tournament held in Ashcroft on the June 2 weekend.

The 13-and-under team, coached by Butch Bob, played six games in the tournament, defeating Merritt by a 4-1 margin in the exciting final game to claim top spot.

A second 13-and-under team from Lillooet finished in ninth place because of a mix-up over team composition. The second team did not have enough female players.

Hannah Calliou reported that Just Do It’s under-10 team came third in its division at the Ashcroft tourney.

In action at Seabird Island the previous weekend, a combined 13-and-under Just Do It squad finished in a three-way tie for sixth, a significant improvement over its performance last year at Seabird when the team recorded one victory.

Just Do It was in action again last weekend at a soccer tournament in Mount Currie.
