On Mar. 4, the Lytton RCMP responded to a theft from motor vehicle complaint. The complainant reported that while working in the Lytton area, his vehicle was broken into. The complainant noticed various items missing, including change, keys and cigarettes. This incident is still under investigation.

On Mar. 5, RCMP members were on patrol and noticed a moderately damaged vehicle in the ditch on a blind corner of the Trans Canada Highway. The driver was still inside, and appeared to be trying to get the vehicle out. Lytton members recognized a potential for danger given the slippery road conditions and blind corner, and removed the driver from the vehicle. The driver was not injured and was taken to a safe location until their vehicle was safely removed.

On Mar. 7, RCMP were conducting Motor Vehicle Act enforcement on the Trans Canada near Lytton. Members observed a pickup truck driving 45km/h over the posted speed limit. The driver was charged with excessive speed, and his vehicle was impounded.

On Mar. 8, RCMP observed a vehicle drive by on North Spencer Road without valid insurance. The vehicle was pulled over, and the driver was found to be prohibited from driving Canada-wide. The driver was charged for driving while prohibited, and driving without valid insurance. His vehicle was impounded.

On Mar. 9, Lytton Mounties responded to a complaint of a fight at a residence on Seniors Road. Members attended and learned that an intoxicated male had punched his mother in the face. The victim refused to provide a statement and proceed with charges. Police spoke to the male and warned him about his actions.

On Mar, 10, police were called to a residence in Spences Bridge for a reported uttering threats complaint. Members were told that an intoxicated man had threatened to burn his van, and later to burn a house down with the children inside. Members conducted extensive patrols but were unable to locate the male. The male was subsequently arrested in Kelowna, and faces two separate counts of uttering threats.

On Mar. 12, Lytton RCMP were called to a tractor trailer collision on the Trans Canada. The westbound tractor struck and dislodged 16 cement barriers, and rolled. There was extensive damage to the vehicle, but the driver was not injured. The driver was charged for speed relative to conditions under the Motor Vehicle Act.

On Mar. 15, RCMP attended a tractor trailer collision on the Trans Canada near Nicomen. The tractor was reported to have braked hard, causing it to overturn. The driver was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

On Mar. 15, Stein Valley School employees reported a possible attempted break and enter at the school. RCMP attended and confirmed that an unsuccessful attempt had been made. Police provided suggestions to enhance the security. This incident is still under investigation.

On Mar. 17, RCMP on patrol received a call to attend a fight in progress on Main Street. Members were on scene within minutes. An alcohol-fueled argument was initiated between father and son, which resulted in a brief physical altercation. One male was arrested for causing a disturbance and held in cells until sober. No charges were sought in this matter.

On Mar. 17, Mounties were called to a residence in the Spences Bridge area for a reported mischief by vehicle complaint. The complainant advised that someone appeared to be intoxicated, and was doing donuts on his property. The vehicle had already caused excessive damage to the irrigation system. The vehicle left the area prior to police arrival, but did not anticipate that the surrounding detachments had already begun closing in. Merritt RCMP stopped the vehicle on Highway 8 and the driver was arrested for impaired driving and mischief.

On Mar. 19, RCMP received a complaint of theft of a generator. A 6500 Watt BE6500ER generator had been stolen from the complainant's property. All required information was provided to police, and it was added to CPIC. This incident is still under investigation.

On Mar. 20, police received a driving complaint associated with a tractor trailer that had crossed the center line near the Snake Pit on the Trans Canada. This action caused the complainant to narrowly avoid colliding with a cement wall. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle, and issued the driver a violation ticket for cross a double solid line.

On Mar. 21, RCMP attended a two-vehicle collision near Gold Pan Provincial Park. Upon arrival, officers observed two heavily damage vehicles. BC Ambulance and Lytton Fire and Rescue attended. Two people were injured, and one person died from his injuries. A collision reconstructionist attended. This incident is still under investigation.

On Mar. 24, Lytton Members were called to attend a grass fire just off of Highway 12. The fire was approximately 1.5 km in length, and was only 300 metres from a residence. The fire was extinguished before causing any further damage.
