Drunken man puts coins in mouth
A woman residing on Main Street phoned the police after observing her intoxicated son banging on the door of her residence. Uncomfortable with his drunken state, she asked RCMP to remove him from the property.
RCMP attended and located the man passed out in a nearby woodshed with a stick of wood stuffed in his mouth.
The male was arrested for breaching the peace. He was held overnight in police custody for safety concerns and released the following day without charges.
He was found a short time later by police, this time with loose change in his mouth. The male was observed near Main Street putting coins into his mouth one at time.
Once again, the man was drunk and he was consequently arrested for causing a disturbance and charged under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act for being intoxicated in a public place.
February 3
Pregnant woman cut by broken glass
Lytton RCMP responded to a 9-1-1 call at the Lytton Medical Centre after two intoxicated persons were observed banging on the front door.
Police attended and spoke to a man and a woman who advised they were trying to get medical attention since the woman had cut her arm on broken glass.
The woman was eventually provided with medical attention. RCMP members observed that the drunken woman was pregnant and relayed this information to the Ministry of Children and Family Services.
February 4
Rowdy restaurant patron refuses to leave
A complaint was made to the RCMP by staff of the Lytton Hotel Cafe after they encountered a rowdy customer who had refused to leave.
Police attended and found the man in a pickup truck outside the cafe. After speaking with him, it became evident to the officer that he was under the influence of alcohol.
Police suspended the man's driver's licence for 24 hours and had his vehicle towed away and impounded for the same period of time.
The man left the area agreeing not to cause further problems.
February 5
Rock thrown at windshield
A man residing on Main Street near the Esso convenience store reported to police that his vehicle was vandalized. Somebody had thrown a rock at the front windshield of his truck.
Police are seeking the public's assistance in solving this crime. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lytton detachment.
Woman leaves car accident
Lytton RCMP suspects a female was driving drunk on Highway 12 after she sideswiped an oncoming car, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.
The woman failed to stop at the scene of the collision and proceeded to drive away with a blown tire.
Police made patrols for the driver and her car. However, they were only able to locate her vehicle.
Police located the woman the following day and laid a multitude of charges on her, including driving without due care and attention and failing to remain at the scene of an accident under the Motor Vehicle Act.
February 7
Woman denies being suicidal
RCMP attended a home on Siwash Road after receiving third-party information that a female had become suicidal following an argument with her husband.
Police were informed the woman had locked herself in a bathroom with a knife and was threatening to kill herself. Upon police arrival, everything in the home appeared seemingly peaceful.
The couple acknowledged that they had been arguing but denied the woman being suicidal. The female voluntarily went to a relative's home for the rest of the night to prevent further problems.
